At Studio to Stage Performing Arts in Nanaimo, our mission is to empower dancers of all ages — from young children to adults — through high-quality instruction, creative expression, and real performance opportunities.

We foster confidence, discipline, and joy in every student by creating a welcoming, professional environment where dancers grow artistically and personally. Whether you're preparing for the stage or simply discovering the joy of movement, our goal is to make every dancer feel seen, supported, and inspired.

Who We Are

Located in the heart of Nanaimo, B.C., Studio to Stage Performing Arts is a welcoming and creative home for dancers of all ages and experience levels. We offer high-quality training across a variety of styles while creating an environment where dancers can build confidence, develop their technique, express themselves, and discover what they are capable of.

Our teaching team brings together a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences — from performance and competition to choreography, musical theatre, contemporary and cultural dance. These different perspectives allow our students to experience more than one approach to movement, artistry, and performance.

We also work with guest artists and professional industry consultants, bringing additional experience from major stage, film, television, and live productions — including Cirque du Soleil — into the Studio to Stage community.

Whether a dancer is stepping into a studio for the first time, dancing recreationally, preparing for competition, or dreaming of performing professionally, our goal is to help them grow in a supportive environment while developing a lifelong love of dance.

Located in downtown Nanaimo at 324 Terminal Ave, Studio to Stage Performing Arts offers dynamic, high-quality dance classes for all ages — from toddlers to adults. Explore ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and more in an inclusive, performance-focused environment.

Who We Serve

Tots & Minis (Ages 2.5–8): Creative movement, ballet, and foundational dance in a playful, nurturing setting for ages 3–5. Our structured Minis Program (ages 6–8) builds confidence through ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theatre.
Youth & Teen Classes (Ages 9–17): Technique-based training in lyrical, jazz, tap, ballet, and musical theatre — ideal for recreational dancers or those preparing for performance and competition.
Adult Dance (18+): Tap, jazz, combo classes, and theatre-style movement for adults returning to dance or discovering it for the first time.

📌 Most classes begin with a minimum of 4 dancers.
✨ Seasonal workshops, guest instructors, and performance opportunities are available throughout the year.

Creative Dance Foundations

Introduce your little one to the joy of dance! Our Kids & Minis programs build confidence, imagination, and basic technique in a fun, nurturing environment. Classes are grouped by age and include styles like creative movement, ballet, jazz, and tap.

What to Expect

Students will develop coordination, rhythm, listening skills, and self-expression through age-appropriate movement and music. Classes focus on independence, structure, and building stage presence through seasonal performances.

Schedule Options

Tiny Tots (Ages 2.5–5) – Weekday mornings or early afternoons
Minis (Ages 6–8) – Evenings and weekends

Our Youth & Teen program is designed for dancers who want to develop strong technique, performance skills, and personal confidence. Classes focus on expressive movement, discipline, and growth in a supportive studio environment.

Styles & Focus

We offer lyrical, jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, and musical theatre for this age group. Classes are structured to challenge dancers while still supporting creativity, individuality, and group collaboration.

Performance & Growth

Dancers have opportunities to perform in community showcases, recitals, and optional competitions. Solo coaching and team-based choreography are available for students looking to elevate their stage presence.

At Studio to Stage, our adult program brings together different styles, backgrounds, and influences. Our instructors draw from a wide range of dance experiences — from traditional and cultural dance to jazz, contemporary, commercial styles, and more — creating classes that are expressive, engaging, and anything but one-size-fits-all.

We believe there is more than one way to experience dance. Our teaching team brings a variety of perspectives to the studio, including multicultural and international influences, along with experience in performance, choreography, and dance education.

Studio to Stage also works with guest artists and professional industry consultants, allowing us to bring additional expertise and fresh perspectives into the studio throughout the year.
